I've been away in Munchkin Land, Emerald City and Kansas with Dorothy

I am finding it a little difficult to get some quiet time on the computer to blog at the moment, as I have been moving into a wonderful "huge" studio/workshop across the road from our business. Yippee!!! I have been setting up the costume making for The Wizard of Oz (there are over 320 costumes to make) and I now have a room just for sewing, a huge area to layout all the fabric and cut out all the patterns and an enormous areas to paint all the backdrops in. I have cleared my house finally of all the clutter and boxes of fabrics that I have been gathering for weeks and I can now create in a wonderful space. It's just like Christmas!!! I will take some photographs soon to show you through the production over the next very busy 8 weeks till the show.

I am really missing my lovely time in blog land, my outdoor

Wednesdays, Table scape Thursdays, Hooked on Fridays and of course Pink Saturday. But maybe I will produce a Munchkin Land story for Outdoors, a dinner party for Dorothy with the Lion, Scarecrow and Tinman and all the yummy pink costumes in the show for Pink Saturday.

And, last but not least a hooked on everything to with the Wizard of Oz.

I have been sorting through some of my children images for costume ideas and I thought I would share some of my favourite little people with you today. I am also so excited as I will be able to take some wonderful images of all these fantastic little actors in their Wizard of Oz costumes soon set up in my new studio.

  1. Gosh Coty, what a star you are taking on all these costumes, but you sound like you are thoroughly enjoying it! I'd love to know which is your favourite Wizard character?
    Millie ^_^

  2. It sounds like you are having so much fun. I know I'll enjoy seeing all of the wonderful costumes you make! laurie

  3. Dear Coty,
I knew you had to be up to something but i could not imagine what. This is wonderful, a new studio with room to spread out, and a place where you can turn out the lights at the end of the day. I have missed you and have also stepped away from my blog a bit to be in the garden. Wished so that you could have been with me and the children today as we went to the Rolex 3 Day.
It was hot and packed with visitors. Not an ideal situation, so we departed early to beat the heat and ended up at a beautiful little church in the country to rest. Took my best photos there.
    Will post soon.
    Have a great weekend.
    xo Lisa
