Happy New Year

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone, I'm not sure what the universe is doing. Is it speeding up? I sometimes still write the date 1998 in my cheque book. I think that year might have been the the last year when I was with it and hip !

Now, these days I seem to have more senior moments, I am always forgetting peoples names and putting the toaster in the fridge and bread in the cupboard. Not that I am that old ! it's just everything is moving so much faster today than when it used to when I was growing up and I just cannot keep up.

As we are about to start another year, another set of New Year Resolutions, another promise to myself that I will be organised, loose weight, be healthy, walk every morning, finish my books that I have been working on for the last ten years, have an organised office, keep my laundry free of clothes, buy only fresh foods and cook fish at least twice a week. Spend more time working in the garden, find a larger home for all of us or demolish this little cottage and build another, call old friends that I haven't spoken to for years, try and meditate each day, exercise more, have more dinner parties and entertain my children's friends each week end. Keep the house tidy and free of clutter. Don't buy things that I don't really need.

Oh my gosh the pressure !!! I think I will just relax and enjoy the year and do what I feel is right at the time. Be happy,,,

  4. I agreee - the time just flies away. And I really do not know how to make the world slow down. One thing could be not to have to much pressure so I think I will do like you - no new year promising. In the year 2009 I will just exist and feel good!
I wish you and you family all the best for the new year!

  7. Each year my New Year's resolution is the same: try to live in the moment and enjoy the little gifts. We took a ride in our boat up the coast of California yesterday with the children and my dear friend Mary and her kids. It was sunny and gorgeous. The water was calm and blue. It was perfection.
May your 2009 be filled with beautiful small moments, Coty.
I look forward to enjoying more of your stunning posts in the coming year.
