This month in Paris marked the beginning of a
huge collection of haute couture and
ready-to-wear fashion up for auction
owned by Danielle Luquet de Saint Germain.
The collection of twelve thousand garments and
accessories was built over many years by
Danielle Luquet de Saint Germain whilst she was a model and muse for
Yves Saint Laurent and later the Artistic adviser for Christian Dior.
She was the inspiration behind the Saint Laurent "le smoking' tuxedo for women.
I cannot wait to see what is coming .... last week the first 300 items went under the hammer. The gown that attracted the most attention was her 1968 Yves Saint Laurent sheer black chiffon long dress, adorned with ostrich feathers which fetched over $130'000.00. (As seen below)
